Dynamic
N°1 or N°2 in more than 40 % of the 245 industrial sectors enumerated in the Ministry of Industry breakdown: life science, NICT, textiles for technical uses, plastics processing, mechanical engineering, transport… ranked N°1 for industrial investments in France in 2001 (140 major projects for 10,000 jobs created).



International

The Rhone-Alpes region has developed networks of commercial partnerships with the whole world to become the 2nd exporting region in France with 11.1 % of national exports enabling more than 2,060 Rhone-Alpes companies* to set up abroad, mainly in the USA, Germany and Southern Europe.

Its international scope is also expressed by its great attractiveness:
860 enterprises with foreign capital are present in Rhone-Alpes, employing more than 50 people and having more than 30 % foreign capital

550 in the industrial sector,
180 in the services sector,
130 in the commercial sector,

coming mainly from the USA, Germany and the United Kingdom,
i.e. a penetration ratio of more than 25 %.
